The Icelandic Cricket Association is the governing body for the sport of cricket in Iceland. Many people have speculated that cricket was actually invented in Iceland, and it has all been documented in the famous Icelandic Sagas!

Coming to the present day, the Icelandic Cricket Association run three outdoor league competitions during the Icelandic ‘summer’. These are the Icelandic Premier League (T20), Sixty Ball Shootout (T10), and Valhalla Cup (40 overs). Currently, five club sides participate – Reykjavík Vikings, Hafnarfjörður Hammers, Garðabær Glaciers, Vesturbær Volcano, and Kópavogur Puffins. In total, we now have well over 100 cricketers in Iceland, proving that the game can played anywhere, even in the land of fire and ice. 

We are excited to partner with S66 as we continue to grow the game in Iceland. Our ambition is to become an associate member of the International Cricket Council within the next three years. All profits raised from sales of the jersey will go towards our development, which includes the expansion of junior and women’s cricket, and further training of coaches, umpires, and scorers.
